Important Information for Field Day Program
Numbers
We allow a minumum of 8 kids and a maximum of 25 kids for any field day.
Chaperones
Please provide 1 adult chaperone from your organization for every 8 kids.
Transportation
You are responsible for getting your kids to the Nature Center and picking them up.
Time
Field trips are 10:00 - 1:00. Please plan to have a picnic lunch in our pavilion around 12:00.
Cost
The cost is $5 per child, payable the day of the field trip. We prefer a check from the organization if you can swing it. If you cancel the field trip on the day of your program, we will invoice your organization for the number of kids signed up in order to cover staff costs. If you must cancel, please do so before your program date.
Activities
DNS will provide a qualified instructor to lead the kids on hikes, games, and river play. The Florida River is very low and safe. Your kids will probably get dirty!
To Bring
Have your kids bring hiking shoes, a backpack, water shoes, bathing suit, towel, sunscreen, water bottle, hat, lunch, and snacks.
What Not to Bring
Make sure your kids do NOT bring weapons of any kind, cell phones, ipods, gameboys, or any other technology. We will not let them use these things at the Nature Center.
