PROFESSIONAL TRAINING

DNS offers a variety of trainings for teachers. As they become available, we will post them here.
Project Learning Tree Early Childhood Workshop
Date: Saturday, Feb. 11
Time: 9am to 1pm
Place: Smiley Building, Ste. 27
Cost: $35 for materials
This is a great training for preschool tetachers, college education students, or parents who want to learn more about what to do with their child outdoors. This curriculum won a 2011 Teacher's Choice Award from Learning Magazine.

All of our key staff are certified Project Wild and Project Learning Tree facilitators. We would be happy to design a training for any grade on the subject of your choice. These trainings do count toward Continuing Education Credits for teachers.
Call Program Director, Karen Hickerson, at 769-1948 or karen@durangonaturestudies.org to schedule a group training.

Senior Naturalists may participate in above teacher trainings. In addition, we offer special trainings and classes specifically for our Senior Naturalists in order to help them continue to develop their naturalist skills. As these trainings become available, we will post them here.

If groups or oganizations would like to use already created DNS curriculum, they must credit DNS and obtain written permission. If groups or organizations would like to use our extensive volunteer manual outside of DNS programs, you must have written permission and we will discuss a fee on a case by case basis.
