Durango Nature Studies offers a fun hour of learning an exploration for our youngest naturalists. We offer two programs for 3 to 5 year olds, which will introduce them to nature through the Project Learning Tree curriculum.
Little ones like nothing better than exploring other little things, like bugs, plants, dirt, and rocks. We will teach them how to use their senses in an outdoor environment.

School Group Wee Walk Abouts at the Nature Center
We offer shorter versions of our popular educational field trips to the Nature Center for organized play groups and pre-schools. These programs are two hours long (from 10:00-12:00), which includes time for a picnic if the group desires. We limit the group size to 12 kids, with a chaperone for every 4 children. Groups must register for these programs and the cost is $5 per child.
Step 1: Call 769-1800 to arrange a date. We limit our programs to the warmer months. So, dates are available April through October.
Step 2: Let us know if there is anything specific you would like to focus on. Otherwise, we will plan our own age and season appropriate activities.
Step 3: Download and fill out a Registration Form and email it back to us. You will receive an email confirmation and invoice, along with a registration packet of how to prepare for your field trip.
